On the second and third of August, 2014, Bike in Batata festival took place celebrating the official opening of the Municipal Bicycle parking of Largo da Batata. It’s the first 24/7 bicycle parking in Sao Paulo.

Aromeiazero would especially like to thank the São Paulo City Hall and Itaú for their support and participation of all of those involved in that bicycle party in Sampa!

In December 2014, Pedala Sampa was held in the district of Armenia in São Paulo. The whole project was done with and for the local community.

Pedala Sampa consisted of a street festival which was organized in association with the residents of Rua Alfredo Maia. Further, we offered bicycle workshops to the youth to learn more about mechanics, to reform used bicycles and to pedal with more security and autonomy on the bicycle lanes of Sampa.

In this video you'll see some testimonials of residents about the event. This video was produced by ÉNois who helped us to understand the relationship of the bike sharing stations with the residents.

In cooperation with Salvador Vai de Bike and sponsored by Itaú, Pedala Ribeira brought people from Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo together for two full cycling days in Salvador (December 2015). Saturday consisted of many activities like Community mechanic workshops, live music, open activities and bicycles for all ages to ride. On Sunday there was a debate between Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Salvador. This debate concluded that the cities`still have a lot to learn, also from each other, so that people are motivated to occupy the streets more often. It was the first (of many!) project by Aromeiazero in Bahia.

The goal of Viva Bairro! is to co-create and support actions of social and environmental impact involving the five communities in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro (Jaguaré and Mooca - SP, and Copacabana, Méier and Tijuca - RJ). These actions are being implemented by the local residents with the support of Extra, Aoka Labs and Aromeiazero.
